Job description
About the role
We're looking for an FMCG Strategic Partner Lead to join our FMCG Ads team at Deliveroo Media & Ecommerce. Advertising is an exciting space for Deliveroo, so this role involves an element of working out the right spaces for us to play in, forming how we engage directly with FMCG partners, and embedding yourself externally to bring partners into the Deliveroo advertising platform; thus unlocking budgets and investment. As such, some of this role is a "blank sheet of paper" and we're looking for a candidate who can help define all of the above, rally the wider business to help achieve our commercial ambitions and deliver on the P&L.
This role will be based in our HQ in London (with flexible, hybrid working) reporting to the Sales Director for FMCG Ads. The Strategic Partner lead plays a crucial role in managing relationships with key clients and ensuring the successful execution of sales and marketing strategies. Their primary focus is on developing new business opportunities with our largest FMCG partners and identifying new and exciting ways to expand upon these existing relationships.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting FMCG client relationships with key decision-makers.
- Own the relationship for a select group of strategic accounts (~3-4) within a specific category (e.g. Food, BWS, Household). Build these relationships into expansive partnerships across all of Deliveroo's growth tools for FMCG partners.
- Work with the DME Sales Director - FMCG Advertising to build out the long-term engagement and go-to-market strategy for strategic FMCG partners and build the capability of the wider team to understand FMCG priorities, strategies, budgeting practices, ways of working etc.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Grocery, Partner Insights) to develop and execute strategic account plans to meet clients' goals and objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and present additional product offerings or services.
- Assist pricing, terms, and agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes in the form of joint business plans.
Requirements
- Background - proven experience as an Account Manager or similar role in the FMCG industry, with a strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics, trends, and challenges.
- initiatives to contribute to team revenue targets.
- Commercial and account management experience
- Thought leader - deep knowledge of FMCG industry trends and best practices, as well as FMCG marketing.
- Stakeholder Management - engaging, informing and gaining the support of various stakeholders. Taking time to collaborate and build relationships
