Meet the team:
Recently formed, the Hospital Business Unit (HBU) is focused on developing compelling go-to-market strategies, inclusive of targeted value propositions with the necessary supporting evidence that will resonate with the hospital ecosystem of stakeholders important to the adoption of RT-CGM in the inpatient setting. The HBU is a new organization within Dexcom and therefore, leadership must be able to navigate leveraging/aligning cross functional partners while simultaneously, proposing and driving new initiatives in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The vast majority of the HBU will be accessed via a matrix structure so building relationships and establishing operating principles with other functional groups is essential.
This senior marketing manager role, reporting to the Director, Strategic Marketing (Hospital Business), is responsible for leading and executing our global up stream marketing strategy and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in product development, upstream marketing, and a strong focus on voice of customer (VOC) and identifying unmet customer needs in the medical device industry, specifically within the hospital space.
Where you come in:
Lead extensive VOC research and analysis to identify unmet customer needs, market trends and opportunities, and develop product roadmaps to guide product development
Lead product development project through early-stage product development, through launch, maintenance and eventually end-of-life
Collaborate with a diverse, multi-functional team to deliver regular, impactful updates to Dexcom products (understand business needs, prioritize features, create PRD’s, plan the release, etc.)
Make data driven decisions, review market research and trends to anticipate and react to competition and customer reactions and initiate / recommend new research proposals as needed
Work closely with Downstream Marketing Teams in the execution of product launch prep, launch and maintenance
Develop and maintain deep, intimate knowledge about Dexcom stakeholders (Patients, Caregivers, Clinicians, Payers), competitors and value drivers for Dexcom
Support interactions with potential partner companies, including ability to build core relationships
Collaborate with all the sales regions to understand business opportunity and after launch, enable key strategies that may be impactful to their businesses
What makes you successful:
Conceived, developed, launched and managed healthcare products (medical devices, apps and/or software)
Strong strategic thinking and planning skills
Strong financial and analytic skills and ability to compose business cases
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Experience leading matrix teams/mentoring other marketing or product managers
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Advanced degree in engineering or business
Domain expertise in diabetes or glucose monitoring
Experience with hospital facing software solution
Proven track record of successfully developing and launching new medical devices in the hospital product category

Exempt Salary Details:
The annual base salary range for this role is $122,500 to $204,100. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
Experience and Education
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree with 13+ years of industry experience.
- 5-8 years of previous people management experience.
