We are looking for a Strategic Lead for Education Services. You will report to the Service Director Education, Schools and Inclusion, and deputise for them when necessary.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead, develop and manage Education Services to continue to improve outcomes for children and young people in the local community. You will have the opportunity to shape and develop alternative provision across Gateshead, as well as developing services around safeguarding, and building on services relating to attendance, children missing from education, amongst many others.
You will be part of a wider Education, School and Inclusion leadership team which is committed to being flexible and adaptive to meet the needs of children and young people in their schools. You will also benefit from working in a Council which has excellent educational provision and a culture of working collaboratively with all schools.
Gateshead Council is also keen to support well-being and promotes active listening and responding to the voice of children, young people, parents, carers and staff.
To join our dedicated, creative team you will need to have up to date knowledge and experience of the education landscape and legislative frameworks for children, and a current working knowledge of schools and educational settings.
You will have a track record of managing and leading change as a senior leader in a school, as well as experience at a senior level of managing people. Our ambition is to secure the best outcomes for our children and young people and we welcome applications from candidates that have proven experience in leading and strengthening provision to include all pupils, and making a difference to outcomes for children and young people who require alternative pathways or support.
