Sitka is delighted to be supporting the inspirational charity Chwarae Teg in their search for a talented and experienced Strategic Growth Director.

Chwarae Teg is a registered charity. Their vision, put simply, ‘is for a fairer Wales where all women can achieve and prosper’.

For this newly created role you need to be a dynamic and strategically focused leader with a passion for equality. You will demonstrate the skills and determination to help grow the charity’s income, reach, and impact, and to champion their mission across Wales.

Reporting to the Chief Executive this role holds a key position within Chwarae Teg and sits on the senior leadership team.As the new Strategic Growth Director, you will lead the organisations growth of income via trusts grants and fundraising and successfully deliver funded projects. You will have strategic oversight and operational accountability for delivering the grants and fundraising strategy, operational plan and ensure successful implementation of all grants secured.

Chwarae Teg are focused on significant strategic growth over the next three years, hence this role has been created, initially a 12-month contract there is a strong possibility that this role will be a permanent one following the success of reaching income targets.

The job

· Develop an ambitious three-year grants and fundraising strategy

· Develop and implement the operational plan to achieve income and delivery targets

· Build strong ongoing relationships with key funding bodies such as the lottery

· Support the wider organisation to enable them to apply for suitable funding opportunities

· Manage and mentor the Fundraising and Grants Manager and Projects and Partnerships Manager

· Report to give clear oversight of the grants landscape in Wales and further afield

· Develop internal systems to ensure visibility of applications and opportunities

· Report to the relevant boards within the charity

The person specification

· Proven track record of success in developing and delivering grants and fundraising strategies

· Demonstrable experience of the development and implementation of grant applications to large scale funders such as the lottery

· Proven network amongst the major funders in Wales and nationally

· Practical skills and knowledge to prepare plans, budgets, and progress reports, and to develop goals, objectives, and priorities, and assign to the team

· Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage short deadlines and timescales whilst delivering a positive outcome

· Demonstrable experience of successfully leading and implementing large scale funded projects

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and an ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders at a senior leadership/board level

· An influential and diligent leader with experience of successfully developing and implementing strategies and plans to secure grant.

Remote Working

All roles within Chwarae Teg are home-based and facilitated by the provision of a company laptop and mobile phone to be used for work purposes. They expect this role to predominantly be carried out virtually, however the role will also involve some travel and collaborative teamwork.
