Job description
An opportunity has arisen within the CHoICE Procurement Services Goods Reception team for two Stores Porters providing an efficient, accurate and reliable stores service to receive and deliver products in accordance with agreed procedures.
The Stores Porter role provides invaluable procurement support to the hospital sites, the role involves having responsibility for providing a robust and effective inbound and outbound delivery service to the many wards and departments on the hospital sites. The roles will predominately be based at South Tyneside Hospital but on occasion may require cross site working to Sunderland Royal Hospital.
You will need to be able to work under your own initiative without, close supervision, be literate and numerate with good customer service skills and organisational skills, along with good and clear verbal communication skills. A high level of attention to detail is vital to this role as you will be handling the receipt and delivery of large volumes of items delivered to the hospital daily.
Candidates should have some experience of goods handling and be highly motivated to providing a first class stores service to ensure that clinical services can be delivered effectively.
