Could you support our Community Equipment Service stores operation to run smoothly?
We have a vacancy for a full-time Stores Operative to support the Community Equipment Service (CES) team based in Nottingham.
Community Equipment Services (CES) is a social enterprise within British Red Cross which enters into commercial contracts with Local Authorities and the NHS to fulfil their statutory duty to supply eligible people with medical equipment which supports them to live independently in the community.
We provide equipment such as adjustable beds, pressure mattresses, bathing aids and walking frames to people who need them, generally after a medical referral to use this service.
A day in the life of a Stores Operative will involve:
- Working as part of the Warehouse team, making sure that equipment is received, recorded, cleaned, maintained and picked ready for distribution as soon as possible, thereby contributing to the smooth operation of the Equipment Distribution Service.
- Making sure that the stores housekeeping is maintained to the high standard required.
- Providing support to other members of the department, ensuring that the operation complies with, and where possible, exceeds customer expectations, contractual arrangements, service levels and overall company requirements whilst delivering target profitability.
To be a successful Stores Operative, you'll need:
- To be a people person with the ability to work well within the team, supporting members of the public.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- To be organised and be able to prioritise your workload.
- A basic level of IT proficiency, with the ability to learn how to operate an online stock management system.
- A good level of general fitness (able to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 21kg)
