Hours: 0830-1700 – Mon-Thu / 8.00-16.00 – Fri.
Report to: Branch Operations Manager
General Job Description:
Outstaff are recruiting for a stores assistant on behalf of our client in Greenock on a tempt to perm basis
This is a diverse role which covers all areas of Operations within the Greenock Branch Warehouse, from Picking and Packing and Delivering to controlling stock. Every day is varied, and the candidate would need to be flexible in their approach
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stock Control – maintaining good levels of stock at all times, stock rotation and the monitoring of dated items. Completing Stock Transactions.
- Receive Goods Inwards and process stock accordingly.
- Picking and Packing of Sales Orders – maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Despatching of Parcels – ensuring all DG Notes and regulations are adhered to
- Local Van deliveries as required
- Additional Duties as and when required.
Education and Training:
- Educated to Standard Level or above
- IT competency (Word/Excel) is beneficial. Training will be given on Company software
- Full & clean UK driving license
Skills and Abilities:
- A general knowledge of the marine industry would be advantageous
- An excellent level of communication is essential
- The ability to problem solve under pressure and adhere to strict timelines.
- A level of fitness would be required, to assist in handling heavy equipment
- The ability to multitask and work independently, whilst remaining part of the team
- A “Can Do” attitude is paramount as every day is different
