Job Title: Stores and Logistics Operative

Location: Southampton / Other locations as required

Reports to: General Manager(s)

Role will be covered by a suitable person as nominated by Management.

Purpose of Job

To support the General Managers with organisation of stores and the site, stock control and the maintenance of plant, equipment, machinery and vehicles.

Principle Duties

  • To support the General Managers with the organisation and control of stores and the site in general.
  • To support the General Managers with receipt of deliveries and booking in/out consumables, tools and equipment when required.
  • To control materials, plant, tools and equipment within stores to prevent loss and wastage.
  • Monitor and maintain suitable stock levels for consumable products as directed by the General Managers.
  • To be responsible for monitoring the maintenance intervals of plant, equipment, machinery and vehicles by using a spreadsheet to log and track.
  • To be responsible for liaising with external suppliers to arrange the maintenance, servicing and calibration of plant, equipment, machinery and vehicles when required, ensuring that records are kept and readily available.
  • To ensure that the stores and site in general is kept tidy and in good order with items stored safely and efficiently so as to allow easy location and withdrawal.
  • Maintain and issue personnel protective equipment (PPE) to staff as required.
  • To carry out deliveries of items to customers and suppliers when required.
  • To be flexible and undertake any other duties as reasonably required of the role to suit the business.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of working in stores or in an engineering environment.
  • Positive and friendly outlook – approaches colleagues, suppliers, customers and tasks with a positive attitude at all times.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of IT software including Microsoft Word and Excel, the Internet and Email.
  • Good communication skills including spoken and written English.
  • Experience of driving a forklift truck desirable or be willing to undertake appropriate training to do so.
  • Must have full UK driving license.
  • Must have proof of right to work in UK.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £38,000.00 per year
