This is a great opportunity to join the Labour team as a Store Operating Model Manager, this is an integral team working with a vast network of stakeholders and projects.
Act as a support to the Head of Operating Models, working between our SSC functions and Retail teams to facilitate and deliver activity that is fit for stores and consistently delivers against our Retail Priorities and business strategy. Be the governance specialist for our retail operating models (including reviewing current models, productivity analysis and end-to-end processes redesign) to meet the needs of customers and ever evolving landscape. Gain buy-in from senior leaders, including Regional Stores Director’s, Store Managers and Category teams. Translate the Store and job family level insight to support developing operating models into robust methodology and resource for stores to meet both our financial and customer outcome targets for the future. Working in partnerships with your peer group across retail labour.

Partnering across Sainsburys/Argos commercial and operational business units and our store Retail leadership teams, you will use your influence and knowledge of the retail operation and customers to shape both current and future strategies.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our operating models are fit for purpose today & in the future, working closely with the rest of the retail labour functions, category teams & broader internal & external retail teams to drive the customer and retail plan ensuring simple and fit for purpose deliverables.

- Drive the value with senior sponsors - ensuring the business has the appropriate budgeted resource - right people, in the right place, with the right skill
- Embed efficiencies and cost effectiveness in BAU operating model while ensuring productivity and service are not negatively impacted. Identifying opportunities to enhance our current proposition
- Author the governance framework, ARCI, stakeholder mapping across function and communication plan for programmes, including reporting of progress, risks & issues, to timeframe and at required levels
- Work cross functionally, defining the future process design for operational best practice in stores, alongside central trading, support, and retail facing functions
- Externally benchmark where necessary to gain to appropriate level of insight and expertise
More about you
- Proven experience of delivering change through Process Improvement
- Extensive knowledge of end-to-end Store operational processes
- Able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how stores serve customers at an operational, organisational, and cultural level
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to analyse insight and data to create strong and compelling business cases and arguments
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to adapt the message and form of delivery to wide ranging audiences
- A high degree of critical and analytical thinking to solve complex problems
- A collaborative approach with good relationship and networking skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
