LOCATION: SELFRIDGES FOODHALL, OXFORD CIRCUS

PAY: 27000 - 30000
FULL TIME

We are changing the rules! Combining our British & West-Indian heritage with our love for food and cooking we are spreading a new age taste of the Caribbean by offering a fresh take on the cuisine.

From the taste to the experience, Juici Jerk is far from your typical Caribbean food spot. We have an array of dishes to suit the modern diner but without forgetting our roots.

Including a kiosk in Selfridges Food Hall, a weekly online delivery platform, event catering and a nationwide meal kit operation, it’s safe to say we have lots on.

This is a fast-moving position that requires someone who can maintain a positive and calm demeanour even under pressure, while exercising good judgment and initiative. The selected candidate will work closely with directors and the management team to help facilitate Juici Jerk

2022-23 growth plans with a heavy focus the Selfridges operation.

Our store / kitchen manager will be responsible for assisting with managing operations to deliver an excellent experience while training staff and working within budgeted guidelines.

What will I be doing?

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Oversee instore operations activities at Selfridges London in line with company standards
  • Co-manage operations from our CPU where food prep happens
  • Recruit, manage, train, and develop the team
  • Assist with annual and quarterly appraisals with team members under your responsibility
  • Manage customer queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist in setting targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
  • Develop menus with other members of the management team
  • Accountable for stock takes / stock ordering
  • Incentivise team members to maximize sales and revenue
  • Comply with Selfridges security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Strive to achieve targets as part of the team & drive a selling culture within your team
  • Consistently raise performance and capability of the team to support developing internal talent
  • Implement a continuous improvement mentality within the team and work in partnership with the wider team
  • To always energise your team to deliver first class customer service within a fast-paced food hall environment.
  • Implementing Health and safety throughout both front and back of house

  • Experienced in managing a team where a food safety culture and rigorous traceability standards are successfully embedded

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Passion for food, with a particular liking to Caribbean and pop culture
  • Passionate about social media
  • Knowledge of EPOS/financial systems
  • Having great leadership and organisational skills is essential for the role, you will ideally have a relevant equivalent qualification and experience of working within a high volume, fast paced kitchen environment as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
