Current vacancies:

Position: Retail Assistant Manager

Permanent, Full Time, up to 45 hours per week (5 out of 7 days depending on weekly rota)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable full time Retail Assistant Manager to join our Utility team in our Manchester Oxford Road Store. The candidate must be flexible and available to work weekdays and weekends.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years previous retail experience and be able to consistently demonstrate excellent leadership and effective communication skills. They are responsible for supporting the Store Manager and overseeing and organising personal and staff workloads. The successful candidate must be passionate about the brand and enthusiastic towards driving sales. They must be able to motivate their team and lead by example showing a focus for excellent customer service and a keen eye for maximising sales opportunities. The successful applicant will be well presented at all times and perform their duties in a professional and positive manner.

Utility Team Members will:

  • Provide a genuinely warm welcome to every customer and exceed their expectations.
  • Delight our loyal customers by delivering exceptional customer support.
  • Listen to customer needs and confidently build a rapport to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Support the Retail Store Manager to oversee and organise personal and staff workloads.
  • Analyse sales and target reports to implement commercial decisions that will increase sales opportunities and profitability.
  • Accurate and efficient handling of all point-of-sale transactions, either cash or card payments and reconciliation.
  • Show a genuine passion for the Utility brand by consistently improving product knowledge and being aware of Utility’s competitors and the products they sell.
  • Show a focus on methods to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Accurately describe product features and benefits, and use this knowledge to build high value sales.
  • Merchandise the layout of the store to visually enhance the products, with the help of sales analysis.
  • Be security alert and pay attention to suspicious behaviour in order to prevent shoplifting.
