Assistant Store Manager
Greenwich
We are looking for a passionate, pro-active, hands-on team leader to be our Assistant Store Manager at our Greenwich Store, the latest acquisition to our UK Metal Supermarket family. You will help our store to continue to grow being responsible for our warehouse and deliveries in conjunction with your Store Manager.
It is a small team which will grow as sales increase, you will need to ensure that your staff prepare and deliver our customer orders, collect from suppliers, run an efficient, organised, well-stocked warehouse and help with sales when required. You will understand our metals, use our machinery to prepare orders and use a forklift truck, all training will be provided in our extensive on-line and in-store training programmes.
As you can see from below this position provides the opportunity for someone to develop their skills in managing an entire store operation with a key focus on the warehouse, delivery service, purchasing and stock control. You will learn about metal, how to buy it, sell it, warehouse it, move it and process it!
Main responsibilities include:
· General management
- Assisting in business growth, reviewing costs, budgets, etc
- Key Holder
- Manage the store in the Store Manager’s absence
· Staff management and training
- Staff training and administration
- Recruitment
· Transport and deliveries
- Manage the Store Trucks
- Route planning, tracker software, delivery performance
· Purchasing and stock control
- Oversee (or perform) purchase activities and approved supplier relations
- Manage store stocks in line with our procedures
- Discrepancy investigations
· Machinery and processing equipment
- Manage the cutting and processing machinery and equipment including maintenance/servicing
- Arrange and oversee cutting plans and job flow
· Forklift and lifting equipment
- Manage staff forklift training
- Manage forklift and lifting equipment maintenance/servicing
· Store counter and customer service
- Supervisory responsibility of the counter when required
- Assist on the counter in busy periods and absence cover
· Health and safety
- First Aider for the store attending a first aid course as required
- Ensure Workshop Rules are adhered to by staff
- Ensure the Warehouse is a safe, clean place to work
- Fire Evacuation Officer for the store
What you need:
- Full Clean Manual Driving Licence
- Experience of managing a small team
- Experience of managing a warehouse
- Be organised, productive, eager to learn and grow, able to work on your own initiative, reliable, good timekeeping and have good attendance.
What we offer:
- Competitive base salary of £30,576 per annum (£14.00/hr) plus bonuses
- Performing Stores can earn incentive bonuses averaging £1900-£3400 per annum for this role
- Full uniform provided including boots
- Working hours are 7.00am-4.00pm Monday-Friday (40 hours), plus 8.00am-12.00pm every second Saturday (4 hours)
- This is a permanent, full-time role with 28 days holiday including bank holidays
