Reporting to the Head of Airside this role will be responsible for the day-to-day managing of the Ramp & Baggage, Operations, Aircraft Presentation and De-Icing teams. You will be responsible for Managing resources to fulfil our service standards for our Customer Airlines. Monitor tasks via SMART audits, enter any accidents or incidents into MORSE providing detailed and accurate reports within prescribed timelines. You will ensure that our services are delivered safely on time and consistently in line with service level standards set for both on time and station performance. To influence and facilitate the consistent delivery of a “World Class” product to our Airline Customers.
Candidate requirements
- To have thorough understanding of all aspects of Airside Operations including Ramp & Baggage, Operations, Aircraft Presentation & De-icing as well as familiarisation with any relevant systems.
- To consistently deliver the highest possible level of service to our customer airlines.
- Provide a detailed shift report at the end of each shift & email to relevant Management.
- Responsible for ensuring we deliver the highest level of Safety, Security and Performance consistently and in accordance with the Airline service level agreements and on time performance, company and governing body regulations.
- Preplanning and ensuring the operation has sufficient resourcing in place for the upcoming schedule in good time, highlighting any shortfalls in advance to the Head of Airside.
- Delivering regular team briefings, providing the team with company updates, station information and relevant safety notices.
- Fully comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 when carrying out your duties, ensuring safety is never compromised.
- Good working knowledge of Airlines and Airport Authorities.
- To provide detailed and accurate reports regarding any service failures to the Head of Airside and relevant Airline Representatives within the prescribed timeframes.
- Ensuring that daily audits take place in all areas of the operation including but not limited to: Aircraft turnrounds, De-icing, SLA's, Equipment Checks & Workplace Inspections.
- Full line management responsibilities of staff encompassing development through appraisals and coaching, managing absence and attendance in line with company policies.
- To comply with all Airlines Ground Handling Regulations.
- Ensure all staff fully understand that safety is the number one priority for the company.
- To follow all processes involved in AAA & DGR Regulations.
- To understand and operate all equipment effectively and correctly and in line with the relevant training given.

- Airports Disruption Management Policy
- Customer Service Promise
- Communications Promise
- Safeguard the health, safety and welfare of staff, customers and other visitors as required in full compliance with the Company's Health & Safety Policy.
- To process in a professional and confident way any questions, queries or grievances
- Any other reasonable duty as requested.
- Adhere to the company uniform standards that are in place.
- Adhere to the company absence management procedures that are in place.
Qualifications and Experience
- Well organised with good attention to detail, proactive and able to work as part of a dynamic team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A minimum of 2 year's supervisory experience in an airside role.
- Experience of absence management, safety investigations, disciplinary investigations and conducting disciplinary hearings.
- Able to recognise and deal with challenges promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to work within a pressured environment being flexible to adapt to changing demands / circumstances.
- Aviation Security Level 2 certified or willing to work towards
- Exemplary punctuality and absence record.
