Title: Store Manager

Reports to: Managing Director

Objective: ClothingXChange is a buy/sell/trade model shop in central Bristol and the first in the UK to offer customers the option to both sell and trade clothing And accessories. The key objectives of our shop is to offer a sustainable shopping experience to our customers and offer our customers quality items at great value; including our own products. In this role, you will oversee the operations of the store and be strategic in short and long term planning. The ideal candidate will assume total store accountability for sales, service, profitability and loss prevention.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Strategically recruit, train and develop Supervisors and Retail Assistants to increase the day to day productivity and sales of the business

· Develop Supervisors and Retail Assistants to support succession planning for the future growth of the business

· Manage all aspects of people development (Performance Appraisals, Individual Development Plans and Disciplinary actions) for a productive and successful workforce

· Uphold Company standards and act as strong leader to the team

· Ensure that clear communication is standard practice and that communication follows the correct corporate ladderLeadership and Communication:

· Empower Supervisors to support Retail Assistants in ensuring high standards and to encourage them in sale support

· Model the way for the store team and inspires a shared vision

· Responsible for the roll-out of new training and operational initiatives

· Possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form

Policies and Procedures

· Help Develop and implement a functional shipment system for our new online store along with our existing online shop and high end online sale app process to ensure that merchandise is placed promptly and the sales floor is fully stocked

· Possess excellent organisational skills and have the ability to plan, organise and execute projects by priority

· Work with our Head Buyer to ensure that our Buy/Trade process is rigorously implemented and followed by all staff who complete any Buy/Trades

· Assume total accountability for store Health & Safety by overseeing and upholding Company Health & Safety procedures at all times in order to protect employees and customers against accidents and incidentsMerchandising & Display:

· Training staff to understand and interpret current fashion trends in local markets in order to create exciting display solutions which customers engage with

· Work with our consultant/managing director and head buyer to ensure floor sets are well organised, schedules appropriately, cleanly executed and completed timely

· Actively take part in taking pictures and producing content for social media (mainly ClothingXChange Instagram page)

Commercial Awareness:

· Lead the team to maximise store sales through analytical and creative management of merchandise from receipt to sales

· Ensure all staff actively partake in customer engagement and become active salespersons to increase sales.

· Assume significant accountability for the store’s profitability and guide all staff to utilise sale opportunities

· Stay abreast of current trends and have a sound knowledge of customer profile by keeping up to date with external influences i.e. media and local community

· Manage stock levels appropriately (taking into consideration the store environment) through the understanding of relevant report, market trends and stock intake from our Buy/Trade process.

· Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills to achieve and exceed store targets

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

· Experience in a senior management role working in a fast paced, high volume fashion retail environment

· Ability to positively impact statistical results in sales, payroll and stock loss

· Proven record of developing talented individuals at Department Manager level

· Can demonstrate the ability to identify problems and implement creative solutions (back of house, scheduling, organisation)

· An appreciation and understanding of the ClothingXChange culture and its appeal to the local market

Able to take direction and training from our senior management, then coach staff and apply it in the workplace

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
