Job description
We are looking for a Farm Shop Manager passionate about good food and its provenance; someone who understands seasonality and the ethos of a true farm shop growing and rearing its own produce.
This is a very “hands on role” and the ideal candidate must lead, coach and inspire our small team to ensure we meet our customers’ high expectations, and maximise shop sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To oversee the day to day running of our farm shop, leading from the front and being the role model to the team- To be responsible for an effective staff rota.
- To work alongside our team to grow and nurture a culture passionate about delivering genuine customer service and exceptional product knowledge. Monitor staff performance and ensure performance reviews and personal development plans are completed as required.
- To actively embrace the opportunity to explore new revenue streams. Seeking out new product and producers, assessing their viability and pitching new ideas to the business. To organise and run seasonal events in line with the farming year, such as an Asparagus Open Day.
- Oversee the day to day management of the Eureka POS system, including checking agreed margins
- Ensure the shelves are fully stocked at all times, maintaining stock rotation and managing waste across the shop.
- To actively promote ‘Our Story’, the fantastic team, the unique and seasonal products we grow, rear and sell on our website as well as all social media platforms
- To utilise your keen eye for detail to visually merchandise products and make them more enticing to customers
- To keep ourselves, our team and our customers safe by ensuring we comply with all related Health and Safety, HACCP, COSHH and Food Safety legislation
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- People management experience
- Experience of a food retail environment, including customer interaction is essential
- Food Hygiene Level 3 and Personal Alcohol License desirable but training will be offered internally to the successful candidate
- Competent in Microsoft Office

THE ROLE
Up to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
5 days out of 7 per week. Hours are in line with shop opening hours (40 hours per week).
