Our Southampton-based client is a leading retailer of pet food and accessories for dogs, cats and other meat-eating pets who enjoy leading active and healthy lives, and the business prides itself on its friendly, welcoming ethos and community spirit.
They’re looking for a new store manager to oversee operations, maximise turnover and ensure your team of staff are motivated, invested, and up to date with training. You’ll bring classic retail management skills as well as the ability to come up with novel ways of working – all to improve store performance. You’ll be adaptable and able to grow with the business, identify efficiencies and act to make improvements, oversee home delivery and click-and-collect services and be flexible across the week to meet business need.
To meet the many responsibilities of this role, you’ll need to have strong leadership qualities, a proven track record in a fast-paced retail environment, with experience in scheduling, rota management and timesheet administration, and the ability to balance shop floor work with your desk duties. You’ll need to know how to coach and develop your team, and preferably, you’ll be a pet owner with knowledge of the pet food and accessory industries, to connect with the customer base.
Retail qualifications aren’t required, although a clean driving licence would be beneficial.
This full-time role, with some evening and weekend work, comes with a salary of approx. £30,000, and a host of benefits including Management training, a significant in-store discount, access to training for industry-recognised course, subscriptions and retail discounts, and birthday and work anniversary gifts, to name a few.
