Job description
As a store assistants get the opportunity to interact with customers on a daily basis, helping them with their shopping needs, answering questions, and providing recommendations. Additionally, you will work as part of a team, which will foster a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among colleagues. You will work in a dynamic environment where every day can be different, with new products, promotions, and challenges to tackle.
The ideal candidate for the role of store assistant will have excellent customer service and strong communication skills. Good organisational skills are also valuable, as store assistants are responsible for maintaining the store's appearance, stocking shelves, and ensuring that products are displayed in an appealing and orderly manner. Most importantly we look for candidates who display willingness to learn, and the ability to work well in a team are also highly desirable traits.
Main Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers and providing excellent customer service
- Assisting customers with product selection and providing recommendations
- Processing sales transactions using cash registers or other payment systems
- Maintaining store cleanliness and organisation
- Stocking shelves and replenishing inventory
- Checking for and removing expired or damaged products
- Handling customer inquiries and complaints
- Collaborating with team members to achieve sales targets and store goals
- Upselling and cross-selling products to increase sales revenue
- Following store policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines
