A bit about the roleThis is a critical role in helping Selfridges to exceed expectations and consistently maintain our world class standards through supporting and guiding the team. The Product Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Stock Operations Managers and ensuring consistent communication across all levels of the division. With a hands-on approach and flexible working within all divisions, the Product Specialist will have a focus on overall workload and prioritisation of resource to required areas. An excellent communicator, the Product Specialist will need to have the ability to communicate and interact at all levels with internal and external partners.
As a Stock Operations Specialist you will be responsible for the following:
People
To support the Stock Operatives to effectively carry out their day to day responsibilities
To drive the performance of the team to exceed expectations through effective communication between the Stock Operations DM and team and giving regular feedback and support
To ensure the team understand key actions and activities
To support in effective communication and organisation through team briefs and daily planners to ensure the teams have the same focuses and knowledge of the business as the front of house teams
To support team member onboarding for all new starters
Product
To support the team to effectively receive, dispatch and process deliveries and transfers, ensuring a high level of knowledge across all areas of ISIM and Retek
To oversee the daily receiving process and escalate any issues through DC Escalation
To have an increased awareness of the stock audit process, in order to support FOH and Stock Operations DM’s in any investigation
To ensure BOH areas are prepped sufficiently for a count
To liaise with FOH to ensure all Faulty, Sold as Seen, Repairs and RGA processes are followed to minimise stock loss and write offs
Overall knowledge of all divisions processes outside of their specific areas.
To communicate any high cover/zero sellers SKUs to Stock Operations DM
To highlight any possible risks which may require further investigation through mini audits
Environment
To support the team to ensure they can maintain a high level of standards in all back of house areas and all fire exits are clear, ensuring stockrooms are always well maintained and compliant
To regularly review stock room layouts to maximise the efficiency of the stock rooms. Communicating any concerns to Stock Operations DM
To have up to date Food Hygiene Level 3 training to enable Due Diligence sign off and ensure food safety processes are being followed by the team
Service
To ensure replenishment standards are met in key areas
Ensure regular communication and feedback to Stock Operations DM on stock position and any issues around stock holding for further investigation
To support team in making sure all RGA’s and transfers are completed in a timely manner and communicating any risk to Stock DM and wider business on weekly RTV call where required
Sending out daily transfer update to Stock DM and Operations Manager and making sure this is distributed to team
To support FOH managers in identifying any risks to stock audit and attending pre audit walks
To gain an overall knowledge of cash office process and be able to support where required
Profit
To ensure the team process all transfers back to vendor accurately and as fully as possible
Reduce ‘write offs’ through efficient managing of faulty stock and return back to suppliers
To highlight any risks around non SKU'd and non-tagged items BOH to support stock loss
Minimise faulty stock through correct manual handling and processes.
To ensure all security standards and procedures are fully understood and followed to minimise stock loss
Ability to confidently communicate at all levels and across all functions
Hands on approach and leads by example with a comprehensive knowledge and willingness to gain an understanding of all department tasks
Well organised. You are able to prioritise your workload and understand the importance your role plays in our service proposition, dealing with multiple requests at any given time whilst ensuring all stock is accounted for
Proactive and reactive approach to problem solving
Computer literate and capable of using and directing staff on all specific software pertinent to loading bay and stock handling operations
Confidence to be able to step away from team in supervisory capacity
