Job description

Reporting to the Stock Team leader and Stock Supervisor the Stock Inventory Controller is responsible for the maintenance and control of stock within the warehouse.

To ensure that client orders can be fulfilled in full on time by ensuring stock integrity is as accurate as possible.

Additionally, to provide the operational management team with up-to-date stock information as and when required.


DUTIES

  • Responsible for issuing workloads to stock team members.
  • Promoting the good name of DSV Solutions (and its associated companies within the DSV Group) by always adopting a professional approach.
  • Update and maintain the relevant stock documents and files.
  • Training of team members on the Stock control processes.
  • Ensure the correct data is to hand to support the operation with stock issues.
  • Generate weekly stock reports by client and circulate

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively work on the warehouse floor to ensure good understanding of processes
  • Ensure Locked Inventory is managed as required
  • To ensure that any auto-generated stock checks are fully investigated and cleared
  • To manage and monitor replenishment process and effectiveness of pick-faces, making changes where necessary
  • Conducting empty location checks
  • To co-ordinate PI counts
  • To thoroughly investigate all queries and adjustments prior to any action
  • To complete spot checks on Picking activities
  • To complete spot checks on Goods In activities
  • Aid with QC checks / VAS checks
  • Investigate and report the reasons for unidentified inventory and return to stock
  • Ensure all stock is in appropriate zones
  • Support with reporting and data analysis
  • To identify and develop process, system, and inventory layout improvements
  • To deliver training to operatives for basic system activities
  • Complete any additional task as requested by Inventory Supervisor / Operations Manager

EXPERIENCE

  • Administration experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of Warehouse processes and procedures
  • Excellent people skills
  • Experience of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Excellent Attention to detail
  • Hard working and conscientious
  • Good IT skills, in particular spreadsheets and databases and a knowledge of warehouse systems
  • Analytical and numerical
  • Flexible approach
  • Prepared to challenge the “status quo”

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to understand and interpret datasets
  • Able to communicate clearly both written and verbally
  • Able to manage and prioritise workload with ability to work to strict deadlines and timescales
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of using CargoWrite with training to Basic Plus level or equivalent (Desirable)
  • MHE experience – RT, HLOP (Desirable)
