We accept referrals from both GPs and hospital consultants so this is a role that will enable you to maintain a varied clinical caseload and use your own initiative to meet the different needs of patients. In addition to the main outpatient department within the hospital, we also provide treatment in smaller satellite clinics held in community locations.
This is an ideal opportunity for a band 5 with proven experience to develop clinical skills working in a supportive environment where CPD, service development and evidence based practice is encouraged and there is a strong emphasis on quality and excellence in clinical care.
Main duties of the job
As part of a large dynamic physiotherapy team, you will benefit from regular protected in-service training time and supervision with our experienced band 7 team leaders and clinical specialists. You will also have opportunity for learning and development through working alongside our team of Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners

The Physiotherapy service is working towards a 7 day model and as such you will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns including weekday hours, weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary. This post will require participation in the Orthopaedic weekend rota at Fairfield General Hospital. This is a full-time post; however, the options for working hours will be discussed with the successful applicant.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience working as a band 5 Physiotherapist and completion of a rotation in the musculoskeletal speciality
- Experience of working within a team and independently with support.
Desirable criteria
- Research and Development awareness.
- Awareness of role of audit and evidence based practice.
- Previous rotation in a neuro rehab speciality
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of areas of clinical governance including quality, audit and risk management.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to present information in a clear and logical manner.
- Organisational skills including, time management, prioritisation
Desirable criteria
- Presentation skills.
Personal Qualities
Essential criteria
- Flexible to meet the needs of the service.
- Ability to work within a stressful and unpredictable environment
Qualifications

- Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC registration
