Rate: $35 to $40

Summary:
As an HR professional, the Staffing Specialist enables the hiring of the best candidates for The Redwoods. The Staffing Specialist runs the daily functions of the recruitment process including determining staff needs, posting jobs on social media, internet, school boards, etc., reviewing applicants, screening applications, checking references, analyzing and preparing recruitment data from ADP, social media outlets, and other systems as necessary, visiting potential recruitment sites, schools, community organizations, participating in Job Fairs; and assisting with HR duties as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- In collaboration with HR Director and department Managers, determines the number of open positions. Posts open positions as needed using ADP programs, social media outlets, school boards, local organization boards, and other sites as necessary to fulfill the staffing needs.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents employment applicants through different recruitment outlets.
- Analyzes data and prepares statistical reports as needed
- Recruits, screens applicants for qualifications, and interviews/sets interviews as appropriate; facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for the various openings.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer ADP, posting boards, and social media outlets.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants
- Attends and participates in employee meetings and training.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in talent management.
- Visits schools, community organizations, and other venues in search of applicants
- Participates in Job Fairs and hiring events. This may occur after hours and on weekends.
- Assists with HR duties and activities as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 5 years of hands-on recruitment experience working with HRIS recruitment database and social media recruitment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- CA Driver's License
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and or standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to drive to various locations
