Working pattern/flexible working - We know flexible working is important to you, and it is important to us too. The Partnership has adopted a blended working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Editorial team aims for around 1-2 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings but again, are flexible on this. The role is based on our Victoria Campus.
Salary range - The salary range for this role is set at £33,000.00 - 49,500.00
Contract type - This is a 6 month Maternity Cover
About the role
John Lewis & Partners’ editorial team is looking for a Staff Writer (known as Copywriter internally) to contribute stories across our print and digital titles.
We’re looking for someone who can pitch, write and publish stories in our Content Management System that will surprise and delight our customers.
We’re not just a boring brand blog, John Lewis’ editorial team is known for award winning journalism. We’re looking for professional journalists who will bring brilliant editorial storytelling to our Partnership and customers.
To be successful in this role, you’ll be confident with journalistic best practice and have good experience with a CMS. You’ll be great at SEO writing and making digital story formats.
In this role you will share collective responsibility with other Partners in the same role for:
Writing editorial articles and copy for print and digital
Building and creating articles in our CMS
Proofreading and subbing
Interest and knowledge of a wide range of retail lifestyle categories
Essential skills you’ll need
Proven extensive experience working for a UK or US top tier media company, newspaper or website and excellent digital article writing
Experience using a Content Management System preferably Adobe Experience Manager and content building
SEO writing proficiency
Proven experience with editorial best practice
