
Staff Nurse - Paediatric Emergency Nursing Team Scunthorpe, England
Job description
*EXCITING FURTHER EXPANSION OF OUR TEAM*
The post holder will become a part of the Paediatric Emergency Nursing (PEN) team. A team ofPaediatric Nurses at Band 5 level will work closely with the Paediatric Assessment Units (PAU), and provide in-reach care to children attending the Emergency Care Centre (ECC) at each hospital site.
The operating hours for this service will be 9am to 9.30pm which equates to an 11.5 hour shift with an hour unpaid break, seven days a week.
There is a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to oversee the management of this team and provide clinical expertise for children being cared for in an ECC.
The purpose of the PEN team is to:
- see as many children as possible in the ECC to deliver a high quality standard of care to them and their families
- work closely with all relevant professionals to ensure there is a collaborative approach to providing care and addressing safeguarding matters
- to promote safe and effective care to children 24/7
- to ensure timely discharge or transfer to an assessment/inpatient bed
- to educate their colleagues in the care of a child in an ECC and develop the competencies of all ECC nurses
- be a good role model
- ensure positive patient experiences.
