The role of the nurse in the emergency assessment unit is a very exciting opportunity, where you can become part of a dynamic and experienced team which is continually changing and developing and where no one day is the same. We strive to improve patient experience and treatment.
The team include an On Call team of Junior doctors and Consultants who work alongside the nursing team and Acute Care Consultants providing the highest quality care. We see patients with a wide range of acute and complex conditions, which include critically unwell patients.
We are looking for motivated and driven health care professionals with fresh ideas to join our dynamic team on EAU ( Emergency Assessment Unit). Our unit has 24 beds and takes referrals from a number of sources including A&E, GP, Clinics and ACP’s. We also have 4 level 1 beds where we care for those higher acuity patients
Training and support will be given to enable you to manage these patients confidently.
As a new member of the team you will be expected to deliver high standards of care and have the enthusiasm, skill and ability to accomplish this role . If not already competent in extended roles you will be supported to achieve this within 6 months of joining the team. To meet the clinical demands of the patients which can vary , you will be expected to manage your time and workload effectively whilst prioritising patient care.
You should have good communication skills to form good relationships with staff and patients. Patients within your care will be treated with dignity and respect and will be dealt with in a confidential manner at all times as part of the Trust Privacy and Dignity Pledges and you will be able to work in accordance with the Trust’s Policies and Guidelines and be confident and competent in practice.
