We are recruiting for a Staff Nurse who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
An exciting opportunity for a staff nurse to join our team with the potential to develop their skills and undertake a university accredited systematic anti-cancer therapy course to be come an experience cancer care nurse.
Training and education surrounding haematology and oncology diagnosis will be provided with options to the develop within Cancer care services.

Lawrence ward is an 18 bedded cancer care ward, we care for patients who have been admitted acutely and electively. The ward supports both Haematology and oncology cancers.
Although Cancer care experience is desirable this is not required with full training being provided with support from or PDN who will be able to assist with training for all aspects of supporting patients with a Cancer diagnosis.
With the successful candidate aiming for development within cancer care and chemotherapy administration;Guidance and education will also be given with aims to complete in house chemotherapy administration course. If competency meets criteria a university module will be offered.

With full training provided for the access and use of peripheral inserted central catheter (picc lines), port 'a' cath's and Hickman lines.
PDN supervision and training with cancer care medications, devices, IT systems and equipment.
Responsible for carrying out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge
To act as advocate for patients within the area, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines
