The Emergency Admissions Unit (EAU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is looking for registered nurses who are passionate about providing excellent patient care within a vibrant and motivated team. This is a challenging fast-paced working environment, caring for a diverse patient group, which will enable you to build a sound clinical knowledge and skill set. Furthermore, interested individuals must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, hardworking, and have a commitment to Continued Professional Development with a willingness to undertake training as required.
The Emergency Admissions Unit is housed within a state-of-the-art Emergency Care Centre (ECC) which was purpose built in 2015. The ECC has brought cutting edge healthcare to Gateshead, where we pride ourselves on innovative ways of providing emergency care to patients.

- Provide evidence-based care to patients during their time on the Emergency Admission Unit, ensuring that the patient is centre to their care.
- Demonstrate a sound clinical knowledge base.
- Able to perform accurate admission assessment and plan care accordingly.
- Able to recognize when reasonable adjustments are needed to support a vulnerable patient.
- Able to work effectively in a fast paced and challenging environment and offer support to colleagues and wider team.
