This is a new post and an ideal oppurtunity for a suitably qualified individual looking to develop skills within an Geriatrics department with a special interest in Respiratory medicine. The position will allow the canditate to meet their training and education objectives within thier clinical responsibilities.

The Trust is keen to develop an outstanding geriatric service and is looking for a highly motivated and innovative physician to supplement the present team.The vision for this new post is to creatively expand our Medicine for Older People service and design posts with and around an individual who may wish to develop services in orthogeriatric, stroke, community geriatrics, Parkinson's, acute frailty, rehabilitation, or other aspects of geriatric medicine

There will be opportunities to perform procedures, develop communication skills (including obtaining collateral histories and advance care planning) and participate in multidisciplinary team working (including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy).

The post holder can expect training in both general medicine and comprehensive geriatric assessment. It is expected that you will participate in the weekly departmental meeting and medical grand round. In addition there is a weekly ward meeting to discuss clinical governance issues.

You will be part of the GIM On Call Rota.

The Post holder will be encouraged to undertake a clinical audit project relevant to geriatrics and/or general medicine.

The post is for 12 months and will provide very good basic training in elderly medicine. This post would be excellent preparation for a specialist training post in geriatric medicine and /or general medicine.

Requirement :

• Full GMC Registration or Process of obtaining GMC
• 4 Years + Expereince
• Full MRCP or MRCP - Part 2 Completed
