The Safety, Security & Resilience function works across the BBC group to help manage risk. We help solve problems with our business customers by bringing together great minds to make our world a safer place.
We capture data information and intelligence across Safety, that has to be collated and analysed in a useful way to help the business manage risk.
We are looking for a data analyst who wants to be challenged. Are you able to translate data into a story that non-analytical minds can understand?
Main ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will create management information and compliance reports and assist all Safety with their analytical needs. This will involve interpreting raw data to identify patterns and trends, participating in the design and delivery of reporting applications and sitting in on management meetings to share information with stakeholders in suitable forms (charts, tables and templates etc) which will in turn support decision making.
You’ll also identify and introduce methods to update, simplify and enhance reporting processes, procedures and technologies. As well as developing automated reporting and coordinating system updates and changes including acceptance testing, quality control and change management.
Business product owner for system and site to include feedback collation from users and safety team. Project manage the launch of the new safety platform to include supporting the Head of SSR with internal communications, supporting the Safety Advisors with user competence, and development. To support the Head of Safety as the key driver of the launch and delivery of the new platform. Excellent ability to manage multiple relationships and stakeholders.
Act as IT Coordinator for the department.
Are you the right candidate?The successful applicant will be a highly numerate and curious individual, who is an advanced user of data manipulation and visualisation using tools such as excel, tableau, tableau server. You’ll need to be able to use Excel to create complex, scalable and robust models against large databases as well has having demonstrable experience of using web analytics tools (tableau server). Experience in the coordination and development of systems and applications including understanding user engagement and user acceptance testing would be beneficial.
