CBRE’S integrated laboratory solutions (ILS) delivers a range of industry-leading, innovative solutions to optimize business-critical laboratory operations, improve efficiency, asset availability and uptime, reduce cost and risk and enable greater time for science and scientific achievement. We are currently hiring a calibration/ metrology technician for our life science service line.
The purpose of this position is to calibrate and adjust equipment in our laboratory or at client site in accordance with the customer and requirements; may assist in creating calibration procedures for new equipment.
This role requires 25% to 50% travel including local/ regional travel.
What you’ll do
- Calibrates inspections, measurements and tests equipment in laboratory and onsite for accuracy following established calibration procedures; (e.g. Chemical, Electrical, Physical/Dimensional, Light/Color, Mass/Weight, Sound, Electrical, Pressure/Flow, Temperature, Force, Mass, Velocity, Torque & Volume, Time/Frequency equipment, systems and controls).
- Performs calibrations for in lab and onsite locations following prescribed CBRE procedures.
- Records data gathered during calibration within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Identifies and uses appropriate measurement procedures.
- Generates certificates of calibration and/or out of tolerance reports as required and in correct media appropriate to meet customer requirements.
- Maintains secondary or intrinsic and/or working calibration standards. Uses calibration software when required to expedite calibration times and to adjust calibration devices.
- Assists in maintaining laboratory ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates Degree (AA/AS) in scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience. Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training.
Previous work experience in instrumentation and control, installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or related equivalent.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Intermediate skills with Desktop publishing, Microsoft Office Suite and Online Help.
Familiarity with ISO 17025 and Laboratory Accreditation.
