We are looking for a Sports Partnership Lead Officer to join our Leisure Team which leads the delivery and promotion of sport and leisure across the growing city of Milton Keynes.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a wide range of projects to encourage increased levels of physical activity through participation in sports and leisure initiatives.

You’ll work with a wide range of internal and external partners including Sport England, the local activity partnership, and other key local organisations such as our EFL football club, MK Dons. You’ll help grassroot clubs thrive, work with national governing bodies and funders, as well as helping us attract sporting events of national significance to the city, building on our success as a vibrant host city for the recent Women's Euros.

• Lead on the promotion of sports and physical activity contributing to a healthy and active city.
• Develop and deliver sports and leisure projects, working in partnership with a range of internal and external partners.
• Identify and secure opportunities for national, regional and local sporting events to be held in Milton Keynes.
• Represent Milton Keynes City Council on local, regional and national partnerships.
• Provide support to grass roots sports clubs and community projects to develop and become sustainable.
• Build relationships with national sporting bodies and funders.
• Identify and secure funding to support the delivery of sport and activity.

• Preferably from a sports development background, with experience of leading and delivery projects working with wide range of partners including national sporting bodies.
• Experience in identifying funding opportunities and successfully bidding for funding.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and motivate others.
• Excellent leadership skills, work well under pressure, have attention to detail and have proactive problem-solving skills.
