Sports Equipment Supplies – Job description installation engineer
Sports Equipment Supplies is a specialist company in the supply, maintenance, manufacture and installation of sports equipment both indoors and outside. We are based in Colchester Essex with an HQ in London, we have a department selling sports equipment online where support is required to prospective customers who need advice to make the right choice when purchasing equipment. SES operations department deal with incoming projects where there is an element of design, manufacture and installation of equipment.

You will need to be within easy commuting distance to Colchester Essex as workshop premisis is Harpers Hill, CO6 4NU
To fulfil this role you should demonstrate a high level of attention to detail have good practical skills and able to use power/hand tools. You will need to be personable and have good customer relation skills as you will be the face of the company to our customers. You must be willing to travel and stay away as necessary within the UK (between Mondays-Fridays) to fulfil the role of Installation, service, Maintenance and Repair Engineer. You must be efficient and organised in your work, have reasonable computer skills and be willing to learn. A friendly and flexible outlook with a willingness to go the extra mile for the team and for our customers, are key to being successful in this role.
You must be a team player and be able to carry out clear instructions to continually raise the standards of processes within the Engineering Team.
You will be involved throughout the whole process from carrying out site surveys, manufacturing the equipment to be installed, installing on site and signing off projects, ensuring a satisfied customer.
Sports Equipment Service & Installation Engineer Duties:
- Carry out site surveys, taking down site notes & dimensions
- Learn how to Manufacture the sports equipment being provided
- Order parts required for each project using company procedures
- Pull together all parts required for each project
- Carry out service and installation work on site safely
- Provide general technical support to clients
- Maintain and use a company CRM system
- Manage your own work schedule based on order book
- Liaise with customers ahead of the projects booked
- Early starts with travel to site, staying away from Monday to Friday on occasions is common
- Work in a team of 2 or more engineers on site to complete works
Sports Equipment Service & Installation Engineer
· Ability to discuss technical concepts with prospective customers
· Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas on occasions
· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
· Willing to engage with both staff and customers
· Computer literate to a reasonable standard
· Fit and healthy, this work is physically demanding
· Hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence
· Valid Passport for worldwide travel
Please note, this role requires a DBS check (If not held, the company would put you through this check).
Ideal candidates will have a background in installation of some form of equipment. Not necessarily sports equipment but you will be familiar with CSCS card system, RAMS, IPAF and PASMA.
If you have worked in the sports industry previously great, we want to hear what you have done. If not, then tell us what experience you have in installing equipment.
For the right person we are looking to offer a full training and apprenticeship in the skill of engineer.
This will require a certain amount of dedication towards training and will see an approved qualification at the end of the training period.
Expect to earn. In the region of £28 - £30k depending on experience, our bonus incentive scheme will see you earn more.
