Opportunity Overview
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to fill an exciting opportunity in The University of Salford’s Sport Centre. Managed by the Facilities Manager, the Sports Assistant will be responsible for the setup of various sports activities, and we are looking for someone who can contribute to a professional, safe and enjoyable customer experience within our Sports Centre.
The existing indoor Sports Centre is located on the Peel Park Campus and contains the following facilities:
25 metre swimming pool with sauna and spa- Fitness suites consisting of cardio vascular, resistance, weights and strength and conditioning rooms
- 2 squash courts
- Fitness studio
- 6-court sports hall
Main Responsibilities
- To carry out Swimming Pool Lifeguard duties for the health and safety of facility users and staff. Please note that a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential for this role.
- To administer first aid
- To play a key role in developing and maintaining high standards of customer service.
- To assist in any development/promotion/organisation of events/activities at any University Sports facility.
- To set up/dismantle equipment for events/activities/functions etc.
A bit about Estates and Property Services
Utilising the resources of some 320 directly employed staff, supported by numerous external contractors, Estates & Facilities Services is responsible for delivering a full estates and facilities management service to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking and landscaping.
