Job Introduction

We are looking for a Sports Content Editor to build and maintain an engaged audience via newsletters and other registered platforms across one of Reach’s biggest sport brands, the Liverpool Echo.

This role is home and hub based linked to our Liverpool Hub. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities

What will the role involve?

You will be responsible for making the most of every email dispatch, survey and writer Q&A, using fresh ideas for content that will retain our loyal audience and grow our customer base even more through high quality content at all times. You will manage sport email newsletters for the Liverpool Echo, from concept to successful delivery and analysis.You will aim to grow our registered customers who comment and interact with our content.

You will work with the sports desk to increase newsletter subscribers, engagement and page views. You will convert registered users and develop projects to increase readership providing an analytical approach to data to inform your decisions. You will sub edit copy for existing subscribers and help formulate strategies to attract readers both short and long term.

The Ideal Candidate

Who are we looking for?

You have first class content editing experience and have a passion for sport and digital storytelling. You understand how to build relationships with digital sports audiences and can use your digital publishing skills to build brand loyalty. You are social media savvy and have a deep understanding of how to utilise these platforms to build readership.

You are a supportive people manager who can guide your team to meet their goals whilst simultaneously meeting and exceeding targets. You are a team player with a proven track record of producing high performing content in a digital newsroom environment.
