Sponsorship and Events Manager – HSBC Life

HSBC Life is an Insurer that specialises in Life, Critical Illness, Income Protection Insurance and Onshore Investment Bonds. The business manufactures products which it sells via the UK Bank but also externally via our adviser distribution partners
The INGB Marketing and Commercialisation function is focused on supporting the strategic and revenue growth priorities of the Life company in the UK. The function focuses on understanding customers and the identification, development and execution of Marketing strategies, campaigns and activities that support and strengthen the HSBC brand, support the drive for revenue and increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed targets and objectives at a local market level.
This role is also responsible for the delivery of the research and insight runway for the Life business.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of a Sponsorship and Events Manager
This role is responsible for executing the Marketing sponsorship and events plan, strategy and framework for delivery of all local events, third party sponsorships and the coordination of locally deployed activity. Events can be physical or virtual or indeed a hybrid.
This role is also responsible for the delivery of the research and insight runway for the Life business.
This is a full-time role and although the head office is shown as Fareham, flexible, hybrid working is available for the right candidate. Due to the nature of the role, there will also be a requirement to attend out of hours functions on an adhoc basis
In this role, you will:
- Manage sponsorship and events programmes from contract stage to delivery,effectively managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners
- Manage deployment of the overall event and sponsorship planning process, including the briefing and co-ordination of all planned communication activities that supports or promotes the activities
- Work effectively with the business and other Marketing teams to define event deliverables, content and messaging – and deploy accordingly
- Deliver flexible activation programmes that support the overall sponsorship and events strategy and work across a range of communication channels and platforms
- Interact daily with agency partners in the development and delivery of events and sponsorship activities, and provide feedback on performance against agreed SLAs
- Be responsible for the management of the research and insight pipleline – working with agency partners and internal functions to define and execute a range of research projects
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- An articulate and strong communicator, and the ability to articulate complex issues concisely in simple language
- Experience and evidence of working with teams over multiple sites demonstrating excellent relationship building skills
- Event management experience
- Exemplary organisational skills
- A thorough working knowledge of business-to-business marketing
- Strong planning and analytical skills - able to critically consider information, identify material issues and articulate and present a well-reasoned business case within defined and challenging timeframes
- A proven ability in using technology to improve event experience and optimise operating efficiency to both internal and external agencies/partners.
- An in depth understanding of the major social media platforms, their capabilities and best practice
