Job description

This role is a full-time position in the NHS based in a Warrington, Lancashire CMHT service; it offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust is seeking an enthusiastic specialty doctor in General Adult Psychiatry to work Monday to Friday. Your core responsibilities would be to help assess, diagnose and oversee the mental health of patients in your care.

The main component of the Specialty Doctor will be to provide holistic bio-psychosocial assessments in order to appropriately direct and manage the patients on the PCN caseload. The postholder is not expected to manage and hold a caseload, but to provide a consultative model to support MDT working with GPs and PCMHPs. The role will require excellent communication skills in order to develop good working relationships with primary care services and will require liaison between primary and secondary care services as part of wider MDT working.

Hours: This position is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week

Setting: CMHT

Location: Warrington, Lancashire

Dates: This position is available for an initial 3months with a view to extend.

Requirements:

  • You must have a full GMC licence to practice
  • Relevant previous experience working in this type of position
  • Section 12 approval is desired
  • Approved clinician status is desired but not essential
