Priory Hospital Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group and has 77 beds over 7 wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntingdon’s and Dementia.
The aim at Bristol Priory Hospital is to provide a person centred approach and therapeutic environment, which promotes collaborative care planning to optimise treatment goals. Right from the point of admission to our acute services, our aim is to support patients to be discharged safely back into the community where they can continue to progress towards recovery in a less restrictive environment.
This will be achieved by:
- Thorough assessment of individuals needs throughout admission
- Person centred collaborative treatment plans
- A range of interventions available from a diverse MDT
- Being cared for in the least restrictive environment
The hospital is set in beautiful surroundings on the outskirts of Bristol.
The clinical team at Bristol Priory Hospital encourage full involvement of the service user, their family and external professionals throughout their stay. They are invited to attend Ward Reviews and CPA meetings to ensure clear communication throughout the care pathway in order to promote individuals' recovery and facilitate discharge.
The successful candidate will also participate in developing treatment plans and programmes as appropriate to ensure good medical practice within the MDT settings.
General working hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00, with no on-call responsibilities.
There is RMO cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will assist with physical health care, clerk in new admissions as well as manage patient’s physical health needs outside of working hours.
Requirements
- Full GMC registration
- 12 months’ adult psychiatry experience
- Relevant experience within a similar setting (preferred)
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) and Code of Practice along with Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
- The ability to interview, assess and treat patients and write clear comprehensive medical notes
- Proven record of CPD
• Desirable: Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners or equivalent• Previous mental health inpatient experience desirable
- Valid GMC registration
- A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice
- Evidence of post registration continuing professional development (preferred)
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred)
- Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners or equivalent (preferred)
