A vacancy has arisen for a specialist technician to provide technical support for teaching staff and students in the area of Art and Design within the college. The successful applicant will also provide guidance to students on the use of equipment and practical processes associated with these industries and skills.
The successful candidate will need to have skills with fine art and ceramics equipment and techniques, and general art and design practices. Experience of maintaining, monitoring and repairing equipment would be desirable. Experience of orders and stocktakes is essential, as well as preparing materials for classrooms and workshops. Knowledge of portfolio building and exhibiting work is a key part of this role.
The successful candidate will have a recognised Level 3 Creative qualification and ideally a minimum of a level 2 qualification in Mathematics and English. Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a classroom, workshop environment or workplace is needed.
The successful applicant will be expected to work flexibly and under pressure to meet deadlines, and be customer focused with excellent communication and organisational skills. They will become a integral part of our excellent specialist staff team.
