Job description
The role will focus on supporting and furthering the potential of our fluid dynamics facilities on the Boldrewood Innovation Campus, including water flumes and wind tunnels.
To bring the necessary skills to this exciting environment you will have a degree in a relevant subject, have practical engineering skills and experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems. A knowledge of or interest in fluid dynamics is desirable since the post will involve assisting students and researchers in various settings including wind tunnels, water flumes and test cells. Experience in design, development and deployment of experimental setups along with the use of electrical / electronic systems, 3D printing, CAD and a wide range of transducers and sensors would be highly beneficial.
It is essential you are an effective communicator able to explain technical issues to those less experienced and where English may be their second language. Pitching in to solve unique experimental manufacture and design solutions will be second nature and you will always be looking to deliver effective results in the most efficient way - enhancing your customers' experience.
In addition, your responsibilities will include safety training of staff and students using the facilities, ensure compliance with safety regulations, coordinate inspections, user lists and associated documentation.
