The Manchester Speech and Language Therapy Service is committed to providing a high-quality service to children and families across the city of Manchester. This is apublic heath roleand forms part of Manchester city council response as a trailblazer for the development of the government fundedFamily Hubs initiative.

We are looking for 2 experienced, flexible and enthusiasticband 6 Speech and Language Therapiststo join the established Communication and Language Early Years team of Speech and Language therapists and Language development workers.

The focus of the established team has been to embed a citywide, multi agency communication and language pathway to provide early identification and support for children with moderate language difficulties. This has been developed as part of Manchester’s drive to improve children’s school readiness and life outcomes.

This is an excitingnewinitiativeto develop and deliver an extended Communication and Language support offer for early years children displaying social communication difficulties.

These are 2 a permanent Band 6 full time posts - 37.5 hours per week

There is a strong training requirement within this role delivering information to both parents and the early years workforce to impact on children’s learning environments both at home and within early years provision. The role would also provide an opportunity to be involved in the development of Greater Manchester initiatives to support children’s language development in their early years across GMCA

Training on the use of the SACR screen will be provided and is an integral part of this new social communication pathway offer for children.
