Full Time Nuneaton, England 24496 - 26845 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

About Us

We’re known as the Supporting People Team and are part of a larger team that provide a countywide adult social care service that supports vulnerable residents. We’re here to offer information, guidance and signposting. We're proud of the work that we do and when you join our team, you'll be enabling the people we support to live their best life.

What it’s like working with us

As a Specialist Customer Service Advisor, you will be part of a team of around 40 people including Social Workers, Team Leaders, and Administrators. We all work together to deliver a high-quality service to some of the most disadvantaged people.

We receive around 200 calls a day from both members of the public and professionals. People also contact us via email. You will be communicating with a range of people from GPs to Care Agencies, to friends and relatives of someone needing support or advice.

You will have conversations with people to help them identify what works well in their lives. You will assist them to uncover the strengths they possess both as an individual and in their community. Using these strengths, the person can be supported to improve areas of their life that matter to them.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be playing a vital role in the adult social care customer journey. You need to have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. You will be able to adapt to the person you are speaking to, so they feel listened to and supported. Your maturity and resilience will help you deal with the varying emotions that people may display.

You will need to be able to evaluate a situation in order to identify potential risks and recognise when to seek advice from one of our Social Workers. As a caring person you will strive to help people in need.

Your natural sense of curiosity will drive you to learn more about the diverse ways people can be supported to improve their lives. Your problem-solving skills will be put to good use due to the varied nature of the work.

You will be able to work independently to a high standard, using multiple systems simultaneously, in order to contribute productively to the team. You also need to have the confidence to ask for help if you need it. Someone is always available to support you, either virtually or in person — you just need to ask!
