About our Pathology Service
The department uses Grifols analysers in BT, Sysmex XNs and ACL TOPS in Haematology & coagulation. Previous experience with or an understanding of the technologies used within the department would be an advantage.
The Pathology Clinical Delivery Group (CDG) is based across both Colchester and Ipswich Laboratory Hospital locations and our vision is to deliver innovations, high-performing pathology services that is focussed on our customers and delivers high quality and fully compliant services.

You will enjoy a varied range of responsibilities from maintaining the quality management system and UKAS accreditation, training of less experienced members of staff, validating and authorising results and most importantly providing quality service for our patients.
You will be expected to resolve complex equipment or process problems and perform manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory investigations, including specialist investigations, within defined service area accurately and efficiently.
You will participate ate in the day to day management of stock control and usage. This may include maintaining Blood Transfusion stock levels and records and monitor usage to ensure efficient use where appropriate.

What we need from you:
- Biomedical Science BSc degree or equivalent
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Completion of IBMS Specialist Portfolio or proven equivalent post registration experience
- Experience of working alone during out of hours service
- Willingness to participate in the out of hour’s service
- Evidence of CPD
