Job description
Spur, a digital staffing agency, is looking for hard-working and punctual Special Education Aide at Brilliant Elementary School in Marion County . We are looking for candidates who have a passion for education and who strive to be an advocate for students.
The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the school and Spur. . The primary responsibilities of this position are working alongside teachers and staff in their day-to-day activities with special needs students. Candidates are expected to always represent the school and program in a positive and professional manner. Candidates must wear business casual clothing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
Duties expected of this position are:
- Must have prior experience working alongside children, individually or in a group setting.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be able to assist with basic grade school level class work.
- Prior knowledge of an IEP is favorable.
- May be expected to escort or walk students to different activities within the school.
- Be able to adapt to different and changing behaviors.
- Must be open to helping new students with different needs as they may arise.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a State of Alabama Background check ($48.15)
- Required online trainings
- One of the following - Successful completion of at least 48 credit hours of college/university work or an associates degree or higher, or successful completion of 3 ACT workkeys assessment
Compensation
- This position pays $14.37 per hour
- Job Type: Monday - Friday (when school is in session) School hours will vary by location.
