The South East Learning Disability and Autism Regional team has an exciting opportunity for a 12 month secondment/fixed term opportunity to support Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) work of the learning disability and autism NHS Long Term Plan priorities including the following:
Please note that the reason for the fixed term of your contract is that the role is a short-term vacancy.
- Bringing down waiting times for autism assessments.
- providing the right care for children with a learning disability and or autism.
- reduce health inequalities.
- Leadership and governance across systems against their local SEND strategy
- The visibility and quality of the Local Offer to parents and children
- Effective co-production
- Quality and timeliness of Education & Health Care Plans
- Waiting times for Therapy provision
- Further develop improved mechanisms to enable oversight of delivery and areas for improvement
- Workforce challenges-in paediatrics, AHP and DCO roles
- Supporting systems with Written Statements of Action (WSoA), and Accelerated Progress Plan (APP) at place and ICB as they develop, to improve and strengthen governance and joint commissioning arrangements.
- Working with CYP Board leads to provide synergy between CYP and SEND Maturity Matrices
- Developing relationships with new ICS/ICB leaders with responsibility for SEND, aligned with regional CYP programme
- Support for SE DCO/DMO and LA network
- Further developing relationships with SEND ICS Operational Leads
- Reviewing and contributing to strategic and operational improvement plans and ICB development
- Close alignment and collaboration with NHSE SEND National lead , DfE leads and teams
- Progressing towards ambition of dashboard development to improve business intelligence and improvement focus
- Development and piloting of training provision and training assurance tool
- Improving the effectiveness of our communications
