We are looking for a confident and welcoming a Full-Time Receptionist to join our team at Thames Lido. This roles will be 4-5 shifts per week, between 30 - 40 hours over a period of 7 days. You must be flexible to take on this role and be able to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
Thames Lido is an urban retreat in the heart of Reading. The Restaurant and Bar look over our infinity outdoor pool. Our Menus are Moorish, Mediterranean, and cooked over charcoal and in our wood ovens.
Our Spa has a holistic approach to all it does, we have 6 treatment rooms as well as our outdoor pool, sauna, and steam room. We have an amazing team and a space we are all so proud to be a part of. Come join us!
The Lido is a special place, it is unique and so it's all about getting to know your customers and knowing what they want, as well as delivering the very best customer service.
Our Spa is open to members as well as the general public and we offer a variety of Spa packages as well as packages that link with our Lido Restaurant. As such, the reception team manages a busy diary, task list, and cleaning duties.
Our receptionists make sure to take all Spa guests through our unique Lido Induction process; we do things a little differently here! All guests must thoroughly wash before entering the pool – that’s how we keep the chlorine levels so low, making a far more enjoyable experience. Our changing rooms are showers and some of our showers are outside! The role of the receptionist is to make the Lido experience enjoyable as if they have experienced something new and a little different from the rest.
Other aspects of your job will include but not be constraint to will be:
· To ensure you are well presented, wearing the correct uniform at all times.
· To greet all spa guests, check-in spa days, give tours, being the first point of contact for all spa guests.
· To take and process restaurant bookings, spa days and membership payments efficiently.
· To ensure that all customers are treated in a polite and respectable manner at all times.
· To undertake housekeeping duties, pool tests and laundry.
· To familiarise yourself and have a good understanding of all menus and product lists.
· To uphold Lido values in all that you do and at all times whilst looking to increase revenue and return trade with positive action.
· To communicate as effectively and clearly as possible at all times; with colleagues and guests, you should always be friendly, approachable, well presented and professional.
· To be a team player at all times and be flexible in order to ensure that operations are always as efficient and profitable as possible.
A calm and friendly demeanour that can easily adapt to all situations and make sure guests feel calm, relaxed, and taken care of from the moment they come through the door is what we are looking for.
Who are we?
The Lido is an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by an award-winning restaurant, tapas bar. The idea is for guests to sit back, enjoy being served by friendly staff whilst watching the swimmers below and your food being prepared in the Wood fired oven. Our Spa provides a holistic approach to tailored massages, using bespoke Lido oils, guests can relax while hearing the lapping of the water on the pool's edge.
