Job description
We are looking for an experienced, ambitious Sous Chef to join our team. Working in a high-pressured environment you must be a hardworking, team player with enthusiasm for delivering excellence.
You must have a passion for fresh seasonal produce. You also should be able to work on all sections of the kitchen.
The Orangery at Delapre runs a successful restaurant based within the historic settings of Delapre Abbey. Menus change seasonally and take inspiration from the walled garden. Additionally, the Abbey operates Hibiscus; Northamptonshire's dining venue of the year, weddings and high-end events where the Sous Chef will be expected to support.

Key Responsibilities
● Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
● Follow recipes and presentation specifications.
● Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
● Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health safety standards.
● Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment.
● Adhere to all food hygiene safety standards.
● Follow directions provided by the Head Chef.
● Collaborate with the rest of the catering team to ensure high-quality food service.
● Manage the team in line with the business needs and guest expectations when the head chef is unavailable.
● Be responsible for cost control in line with our business plan.
● Be knowledgeable of all food items on all departmental menus.
● Utilise your collaborative knowledge of the culinary department wherever possible, displaying initiative when problem solving.
● Knowledge of seasonal produce; new products on the market and awareness of culinary trends.
● Ensure that all dishes are correctly presented and garnished before being sent for service.
● Assisting in other areas of the kitchen when required.
Shifts vary but core days would be Friday to Tuesday each week with the potential to review.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
