Allegra Restaurant – Assistant Head Sommelier
Set across the seventh floor of Manhattan Loft Gardens – an extraordinary double-cantilevered tower of loft apartments, sky gardens, bars and a design hotel, Allegra is an east London restaurant blending modern European cuisine with authentic hospitality. Awarded number 53 in the 2022 list of ‘100 Best Restaurants in the UK’, Allegra has a menu that displays a strong seasonal influence and local produce.
Following the success of the legendary Chiltern Firehouse, this is the latest collaboration between London property developer, Harry Handelsman and Irish chef, Patrick Powell.
We are looking for proactive and driven Assistant Head Sommelier to join our Team.

What you’ll do…
- Oversee the restaurant whilst on service, ensuring Company standards are met
- Having a great understanding of wine
- Recommending and selling wines to our guests that will complement their tastes and meal and creating a memorable experience
- Working closely with your Head Sommelier and assisting senior members with supervising the setting and clearing down after each dining experience
- Being confident in training, developing and passing on your wine knowledge to junior staff members
- Maintaining energy and passion for wine and beverage, to ensure the highest standards are always achieved.

- 2 years experience in a similar role
- Friendly, approachable, and with a positive attitude always
- Passionate about offering personal and caring customer service that will make guests come back for more
- Show initiative and proactive with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and prioritise tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Reliable team player, that Managers and colleagues can count on
- Growth mindset that continuously look for ways to improve our guests and colleagues experience
- Have a genuine passion for food and beverage
