Location: London (2 days in the office, the rest from home)
Salary Benefits £85,208- £106,260 base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Everyday Banking platform is responsible for the end-to-end journeys for personal current accounts and savings products to consumers, including servicing of debit and credit cards in multiple channels, as well as owning Vault, Core Banking Systems and e-statements.

About the role
As a Solution Architect, you'll lead from the front in designing our target architecture and solutions that move us towards it as we transform. You'll work with Engineering Leads, Product Owners and Lead Developers to ensure we're building the right thing – and building the thing right.
As well as guiding and communicating our enterprise vision through Solution Design, you'll play a huge part in keeping our customers safe, through thoughtful, pragmatic design choices that can be built, modified, and operated in a fast-paced agile environment.
Your contribution will be instrumental to our strategy of simplifying, modernising, and de-risking the technology landscape, enabling the Bank of the Future and ultimately driving value for customers and shareholders.
What you’ll do
- Be responsible for defining our application architecture and leading architecture decisions through formal governance processes.
- Manage the IT Roadmap, driving innovation while standardising methodology.
- Ensure IT compliance and governance policies are met
- Work collaboratively with the Product Owner as well as Engineers, Business Analysts and Scrum Masters to help in building team capability.
What we need from you:
This is a leadership role, providing direction for our Lab engineers, blending domain knowledge and deep technical expertise, and coaching cross-disciplinary feature teams to deliver high quality maintainable software.
As a minimum we'll need to see evidence of:
- Prior experience in a solution architecture position
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices
- Excellent Stakeholder and Relationship management skills.
- Strong ability to influence customers at a senior level across job families
- Strong understanding of building applications through containerised microservices-based architectures, with a working-to-strong understanding of cloud methodologies
- Working knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices and concerns
- Have played an active part in architecture and design governance
