Due to growth, we are looking to expand within our Electrical Design Department. We are looking to appoint an experienced multi-disciplined Test Development Engineer who will be working as part of a team to complete the design, development and build of bespoke functional test systems for the company’s expanding client base within the Test Automation Industry.
The right candidate will have proven electronic/electrical design disciplines, as he/she will be closely involved with the conceptual electronic/electrical design of complete test solutions and their subsequent manufacture. The role incorporates design, component specification and project logistic responsibilities i.e. commissioning and integration.
This position will call for experience in the use of relevant software (e.g. Altium). You will need excellent IT skills, as the requirement to design and generate both electronic/electrical schematics, wiring schedules and complete system documentation packages, will be a key feature of the role. The right candidate must also possess good communication skills for customer presentation/ liaison purposes.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
· Initial meetings with customers to gather requirements
· Investigate potential solutions
· Communicate with customers and other engineers to clarify requirements / meet specifications
· Assist with quote / proposal generation
· Technically lead projects
· Generate electrical / electronic design specifications for team members
· Provide technical guidance and review to other team members
· Work closely with manufacturing department to inform and answer queries during assembly/test stages
· Attend factory and/or site acceptance testing with customer
· Review project engineering documentation
Ideal Qualifications and Experience
· Formal engineering qualification in electronic / electrical design.
· Minimum of 3 years industry related experience in electrical engineering at design / implementation level.
· Experience of designing test equipment.
·Experience of designing analogue and digital interface circuits.
· Altium Designer experience preferable however any other electrical CAD software is acceptable.
· PCB design, Harness design, Power distribution design, Safety circuitry design, Technical documentation.
