Working within a highly skilled, small team, you will be fully supported to achieve exceptional standards to manage the testing of newly released software. Inform products include a core software application and a highly configurable customer specific layer. Inform work to a two week Agile development sprint and testing aligns with the sprint process.
To ensure the rapid, effective feedback to the relevant production team, the purpose of the role is to design, develop, document and execute manual test plans for both existing and new Inform products and features. This includes the provision of a continuous and effective testing service which includes documenting findings in testing documents, report writing and defect reporting.
To support the biannual release cycle for existing customers and an adhoc release cycle for new customers the Software QA Engineer will manage the testing cycles.
To support the highly configurable Inform product where customers may have customer specific features, the Software QA Engineer will plan and execute a testing programme prior to release.
The Software QA Engineer will investigate automated testing tools with a view to implementing automated unit, integration and UI testing.
Duties and responsibilities
· Testing existing Inform clinical products
· Testing of newly developed software features and existing product functionality against functional specification documents developing and documenting test plans as testing is performed.
· Testing the web API’s and applications across multiple browsers as well as multiple devices. Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and helpful feedback.
· Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
· Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities
· Develop and execute testing processes for existing and new features to meet the products needs
· Suggesting and implementing new testing tools and test strategies that can enhance the product
· Work within an Agile environment, using JIRA, along with a number of automated build/ deployment tools, manage JIRA, test plans, test runs and regression testing.
· Identify, record, document and track bugs
· Interact with product and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the products.
· Deploying to and maintaining test environments using a number of automated tools and processes.
· Support production and testing deployments of applications.
· Documentation of user manuals, training materials and release notes
· Communicate with our internal support team to identify any software application problems and educate our development team to improve our systems
· Work collaboratively with the Development Team to fully understand the system and any changes.
· Report significant issues or concerns and provide recommended process
· Drafting release notes as functions / features are tested.
· Maintaining and developing technical documentation.

Inform MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) provides services with the ability run local or regional MDT meetings within the NHS network, providing an efficient way of specialists collaborating to get the best care for patients with complex care needs.
Inform ORB
ORB (Online Registration and Appointment Booking) provides patients with the ability to register with a sexual health service online via their website. Through a customisable triage processes that assesses risk and establishes the patient’s needs, ORB provides patients with the ability to book an appointment, access self-service products (collecting from clinic) including condoms, pregnancy tests and sexual health testing kits, postal STI testing kits, telephone consultations and signposting to other services.
Inform Patient Kiosk
Patient Kiosk provide patients via touch screen kiosks with the ability to register or update their demographic details, arrive or self-check-in for booked appointments and access information and signposting to other services. Through a customisable triage processes our kiosks also enable patients to arrive themselves into a walk-in clinic and access self-service products including condoms, pregnancy tests and sexual health testing kits.

In 2018 Inform began developing a new Health Information System. This is being launched for Sexual Assault Referral Centres in 2019. Built from the ground up to support the needs of the modern Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Inform SARC has been designed by working closely alongside experts in the delivery and management of SARC services.
