As SW product manager you will be in partnership with the Product Management and Solutions Teams, define, drive and manage the roadmap of software products integral to the solutions strategy of our business.

Your responsibilities

As a SW product manager, you are responsible for:

  • Build a strategy of software products and delivery plans aligned to the PL’s needs, drive the planning and execution with the R&D organization ensuring deliveries meet timing and customer functional expectations.

  • Be the customer face of our software products, be able to discuss functionality and build product requirements from customer communication.

  • Understand the major competitor real capabilities and their product strategy, ensure a competitive capability is planned from NXP.

  • Establish a fact/market based common understanding of our potential software value and develop the marketing tools to allow our sales team to extract that value.

  • Plan and manage our software sales and revenue strategy with the Segment Managers ensuring consistency across VCNS and with AP central Commercial marketing.

  • Drive the business strategies for alternative customer revenue models, adders, revenue sharing, buy outs, buy ins, NRE’s, software enabled hardware, etc.

  • Manage the strategy and prioritization of VCNS software products with the R&D team, working the trade offs required to meet our customer requirements and our strategies.

  • Manage the PL relationship with the key SW partners, share roadmaps keep them updated on our strategies and product timing.

  • Understand and manage our software budget and spend with the R&D team ensuring optimum use is made of both internal and external resources.

  • Manage a portfolio of software products with appropriate maintenance and warranty contracts with our focused customers.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

  • BSc or MSc degree and experienced in the software industry, serving automotive or similar markets.

  • Experience of the Auto OEM software supply chain.

  • Commercial experience of selling, buying and/or managing software.

  • Experience in developing Contracts and Competitive Positioning of T&C’s

  • Experience of software product management through all the lifecycles (creation to maintenance)

  • Ability to develop & present successful business plans to senior management

  • Track record of significant business development & long term relationship building

  • Partner management – developing win-win relationships with trusted partners

Furthermore, you are:

  • Strong Communication & influencing skills

  • Experience of working in a multi-national company with global customers would be an advantage

  • Able to travel when required to our customers.

Contract: This is a full-time position with a permanent contract. However, we are open to discuss a part-time opportunity as well.
